QQLA Summer 2026 Photo Contest - “ACTION on the Lakes” - Deadline Aug 1st
Here is a great submission from the 2018 contest.
It's been nearly a year since the QQLA held a photo contest, so IT'S TIME !!
For this, our SEVENTEENTH contest we asked for prior contest winners to suggest a theme. Among several interesting ideas one emerged as a front-runner, a re-visit to a theme used in our 4th contest over 8 years ago: ACTION ON THE LAKES
Photo Contest Rules
Photos MUST include at least a peek of one of our lakes (North / South Pond), or a river or creek connected to our lakes (Quaboag R / 7-Mile R / East Brookfield R). Photos with no water element will not be shown to the judges.
Photographers who have won two or more prizes in past QQLA photo contests can participate, but they can NOT win a prize. If their photo(s) place among the winners they will be recognized, but the prize will be moved down to the next in line. \
NO COST to enter this contest
3 prizes will be awarded:
$25 Gift Certificate for the BROOKFIELD BOOK STORE (formerly the 'Book Bear') on Route 9 - they have a really nice photography section & plenty of sunset photos too!
$20 Gift Certificate for the CLAM BOX restaurant - Rt. 9 East Brookfield - one of our best sponsors.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
• PHOTO LIMIT: 6 photos per photographer.
• PHOTO SIZE: at least 1000 pixels on the 'short' side ... and no more than 3000 pixels on the 'long' side. Photos out of this range will be re-sized before the judges see them.
Important to remember that ‘small’ photos are at a severe disadvantage during judging.
• TITLE: Please add one to each photo if you like - submissions with no title will have one applied before judging to make it easier for judges to sort the entries.

• JUDGING: NOTE that FINAL JUDGING will be done by all who attend the QQLA Annual Meeting - to be held at the YMCA Camp in August.
• Remember: photos need not be current – photos from ANY DATE will qualify.
• Submissions are welcome from Non-QQLA members.
• Deadline: Midnight SATURDAY, August 1, 2026 = Which is also the date of the annual WILD BILL SWIM (an interesting event at which there is a LOT of ACTION!)
• Photos submitted become the property of the QQLA
