Call to Order: 6:35 PM

Minutes, Recording Secretary: (Anne) electronic approval received

Treasurer’s Report: (Carlene) Accepted

➢    Carlene is stepping down as treasurer, Bonnie Mosher is taking over.

➢    A unanimous vote was noted with a cap of $800 for the purchase of a new laptop to accommodate Quicken and other necessary software.

➢    Marita stated that one of our CD’s is maturing and a unanimous vote was taken to renew it at 3.75% for 6 months. The CD is currently valued at $23,481, the necessary funds will be provided to increase the reinvestment at $24K.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Water Quality: Lakes Preservation: (Doug/ Don) and Misc.

➢    High Water Mark: Don continues to work on getting approval from state to allow for signs to be posted.

➢    SWWTP: Numbers are within stated limits and Doug continues to monitor.

➢    Alum Treatment: Skip will follow up with Carl to extend the permit for treatment.

Communication/Education:

➢    Year in Review: Randy will complete for distribution in January.

➢    Phonebooks: Randy will print 30 phonebooks and include an addendum with corrections and updates.


Membership & Fundraising:

➢    Membership: Currently 154. Notice of dues and fundraising letter provided by Bill will be sent out in January along with a 2025 Year in Review provided by Randy.

➢    Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner; 31 people in attendance. Considering moving it to a weeknight next year to avoid a busy weekend crowd.

➢    Norpondapus: Minimal repairs needed, although it may need a new battery. Committee will meet to discuss details regarding timing, retrieval procedure and data collection.

Environmental/Education Subcommittee: Don, Anne, Bill , Chelsea, Liz & Bonnie

➢    Next month’s edition to include a plea for help with website management.

Misc Topics

➢    Accounting: Marita researched fees, it was voted to keep current accountant including funds necessary to prepare all required tax documents. Expected expense $800.

➢    Online Store for QQLA merchandise: Don has agreed to look into this.

➢    Turkey Drive: Currently have 13 contributions and $1110 in gift cards. Willowbrook school has agreed to participate and Jake Hill will match any contributions from the school. Deadline for donations is Friday November 21st, an email reminder will be sent out.

➢    Y Camp: Bill will reach out to Gus to enhance relationship between QQLA and camp. A scholarship idea was introduced and will need further review.

New Business

➢    BOD

o  The BOD gratefully accepts the addition of dive new members: Steve Quink, Valerie Quink, Dave Parke, Bryan Rathbone and Bob Post.

o  With immense sadness and unending gratitude the BOD reluctantly accepts the resignation of Skip Neilsen. Skip has had over 40 years of service to our lake organization. His time, talent and effort have been invaluable for our lakes’ benedit. He will be designated a member in emeritus so that we may continue to benedit from his expertise. Thank you for all you have done Skip!

o  Marita also mentioned the she will soon be resigning her position on the BOD

➢    Website: Meg will reach out to a professional for advice on updating and making the website more user friendly.


➢    QQLA Historical Files: Don introduce the idea of the diles being donated to the Brookdield Library, Randy will reach out to library and review the diles.
