QQLA ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
August 16, 2026, 10:00AM
Location: YMCA Camp Frank A. Day
61 total members in attendance, including the following board members:

Meeting Opened: 10:15 am
Meg Noyes welcomed everyone and thanked Gus and the staff at YMCA for hosting

Bonnie informed members of her roles as the treasurer
Most recent treasurer report was submitted and accepted.
2025 Annual Meeting Minutes motion to accept and voted to approve
Introduction of Board Members
Speaker: Heather Gabalaski presented a wonderful slide show on the rise of manufacturing and the impact on the local area
Welcome Senator Durant: The senator thanked us for our efforts to preserve the local lakes and the continued monitoring of the Spencer Wastewater Treatment Plant (SWWTP). He has had the honor of speaking at many local towns to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary. A question was asked by Bill Seabourne regarding the environmental bond bill, which includes provisions to expand hunting on Sundays, cross bows and decreasing setbacks. The bill has been approved by the house but is awaiting approval in the senate.
QQLA 30 Year Anniversary: A brief history was presented by Meg Noyes:
~1981 Ladies of the Lake (LOL) was formed, the objectives included quality of water, weeds, the proposed campground and marina and the SWWTP
~1985 Diagnostic Studies were performed
~1989 QLA was formed
~1991 Flow Barrier was installed
~1996 QQLA begins
~1997 1st Spring Clean up
~2006 Weeds were cut
~2008 Permit for upgrades to SWWTP
Overall, a very productive 30 Years
A brief Review of QQLA Current Activities was presented by Meg
Meg thanked Don for his notes, his organization allowed her to follow the agenda
Randy asked for neighborhood volunteers to become team captains and facilitate communication between residents and the QQLA
50 50 Raffle prize of $230 won by Jared, who promptly donated it back to the QQLA
