Water Quality:

TRC & Weed Mapping (Doug)

  • *Updated contract for Dwarf Bulrush received, Natural Heritage needs a comprehensive map to approve future weed treatment. Estimated cost $3100-$4400. Unanimously approved, Doug will sign contract and proceed with Donald Pagent to perform plant survey.

Algae Bloom North Pond

  • Extensive discussion regarding recent and reoccurring algae bloom in NP Due to recent complaints from a few residents. A comprehensive email will be sent out and further information to be added to website.

  • Meg Noyes and Skip Neilsen offered to speak to directly to individuals that are complaining. Residents will be advised to report algae blooms to their local Board of Health.

  • A possible town meeting was discussed and decided to hold off at present.

  • Diagnostic Studies: last studies were performed in the 1980’s Randy to investigate cost of new comprehensive study vs phosphorus studies.

Membership:

  • Current Members: 133

  • Following a recent reminder letter 9 renewals were received.

  • Will monitor number of renewals received at the annual meeting in August.

Neighborhood Captains (Randy & Meg)

  • Will attempt to procure volunteers for this program at the annual meeting.

Fundraising

  • Bill will compose and send out a mailing in September.

  • Rich and Bob Raised concerns about the future budget, expenses are currently exceeding income. They would like to analyze current data including donations, names and amounts. Bonnie expressed concerns regarding doners and privacy. It was agreed (13- 1) to provide them with amounts of donations but not names.

Participation Recognition Program

  • Bob discussed that this in not working as he had hoped, members are not putting the stickers on their boats. Will reevaluate if it is worth continuing in the future

Annual Meeting: (Sue)

  • Sue is communicating with Gus at Camp Frank A Day and will \ind out how many volunteers will be assigned to determine cash needed for tip.

  • Don will chair meeting.

  • Invitations have been sent out to local representatives.

  • Photo contest only has 7 submissions, but judging will move forward at the meeting

  • Publicity will include email blast, website and neighborhood signs

  • Randy will provide phonebooks and inserts with updates.

  • 50/50 Raf\le, Chelsea will promote and collect at meeting

  • Speaker: Heather Gablaski

  • 30 Year anniversary: Randy to provide timeline. Guests will have an opportunity to order anniversary t-shirts and cake and ice cream to celebrate.

  • Anne will provide minutes from last year’s annual meeting

  • Notecards, merchandise and Fazen book will be available for purchase.

Misc Business

  • New Website: Bob reports new website is up and running, easily does credit card transactions and keeps track of inventory.

  • Boat Parades: 12 participated in SP and 10 in NP Many attended after party on SP beach. Discussed adjusting times so that north ponders can attend party of having a separate celebration on NP.

New Business:

  • Marita reminded board that we need to announce the officers at next meeting

  • Randy noted that the website is the barrier closed is available for $15, it was agreed it wasn’t needed. Also QQLA.com is available for 10K also not necessary.

  • It was mentioned that a south pond member posted the map on the back of the phonebook on social media. Randy will approach member.
