Water Conditions
Water Quality: Lake Preservation
Rich discovered a large kill of dead fish related on shoreline. He has since reached out to the State and sent photos. Don will follow up with a call and see about additional observations.
-Water Fountains. We discussed lightly the usage of water fountains (in previous Newsletter.)
High Water Mark: Bill and Don discussed the water marker and the potential of including an orange marker line at boat ramp to determine high water levels to inform the public
Weed Treatment: Doug stated that this year the process continues to work with Carl, then Willcox & Burton for treatment. It was offered the option of Phase 1 for applications, mapping and treatment. This was not an additional cost. It was decided to just remain working with Carl. TRC came on 6/10, for the application fees and for National Heritage. The invoice has not yet been paid which is $1400.00. However, the mapping has not yet been done but they want to identify the natives. The Dwarf Bulrush only grows when the water levels are at 2 feet. It cannot be identified early in the year. We also cannot be treated at high water. Don will do a short summary for newsletter including the reason and cost breakdown. This information will be helpful, so the members know what their money is being utilized for. Bob made a request to know the balance each month moving forward of what has been paid or not. The board decided after discussion at length that the proposal will be an annual update from Don.
Weed Treatment continuation: Don and Doug will follow up next meeting.
Fundraising & Membership:
2026 Membership is currently 127 members. Follow up letter from Carlene. (Carlene.)
Don stated to have the neighborhood captains to increase membership. We are down in donations significantly in compassion to this time last year. Randy illustrated a map and a list of the designations on each pond. The maps were passed around the room for the zones and those on the board who would like to participate as neighborhood captains. There were 9 volunteers from board who will participate. Randy and Meg will champion how we will map out the zones.
Bob will do a trial for additional stickers.
Communication/ Education:
Website discussed the new design, functions and format (Meg/Bob.)
Almost every member had a chance to review the website prior to meeting. It was suggested to direct traffic from Friends + Neighbors to the Link for new website. The motion was we will follow recommendation of website committee.
Photo Contest – There will be a broadcast about photo contest of the theme “Action” which was agreed and voted on from Board. Judging will be at annual meeting in August 2026.

Liz and Chelsea will champion North Pond, which will have theirs start at 12pm.
Marita has 2 signs for North Pond and 3 for South Pond that Bill and Pat will work on getting those out.
